Parent–Child Classes (4–24 months)
Toddler 2 (2.5–3 years)
Preschool & Pre-K (late 3s to 5 years)
Level 1–3 (ages 6 and up, beginner to advanced)
Private & Semi-Private Lessons (2 swimmers only)
Adult private Lessons (never combined with children)
Class Descriptions
Parent–Child (4–15 months & 16–24 months)
- 30-minute group class, max 10 swimmers
- Parent/child bonding while acclimating babies to the water
- Skills: safe holds, kicking, scooping, blowing bubbles, floating, submersion, fun entries
Toddler 2 (2.5–3 years; or 2 if completed Parent/Child at Team85)
- 30-minute group class, max 3 swimmers
- Building independence without a parent in the water
- Skills: kicking, scooping, face in water, back floats, kickboard use, jumping in, maneuvering with noodles independently in the water
Preschool (late 3s to early 4s)
- 30-minute group class, max 4 swimmers
- Skills: body position, kicking with kickboard, glides, underwater skills, safe entries/exits, independent movement floating on back
Pre-K (late 4s to 5 years)
- 30-minute group class, max 4 swimmers
- Skills: body balance, freestyle arm and leg coordination, floating, jumping in and swimming to instructor, preparing for Level 1
Level 1 (ages 6+, new swimmers)
- 45-minute class, max 5 swimmers
- Skills: flutter kick, freestyle basics, side breathing, back floats and backstroke, treading water, deep-water entries
- Goal: swim 1 lap (25 yards) freestyle & backstroke, tread water for 1 minute
- Must be able to swim 1 lap of both free style and back-stroke independently to move to level 2
Level 2 (ages 6+, intermediate)
- 45-minute class, max 5 swimmers
- Must swim freestyle & backstroke without assistance (instructor does not have to be in the water during the class)
- Skills: stroke refinement, endurance, introduction to breaststroke (arm/leg coordination, timing)
- Goal: demonstrate proficiency in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke before advancing
Level 3 (advanced swimmers)
- 45-minute class, max 5–8 swimmers
- Focus: speed, endurance, efficiency, advanced drills, competition tactics
- Perfect for swimmers preparing for competitive swim team or maintaining high-level technique
Swim Team: Poseidon’s Tridents at Team85
Once swimmers can complete a 25-yard lap of freestyle and backstroke, they may join our USA Swimming year-round competitive swim team.
- Minis (8 & under), Age Groups (9+ through high school)
- Focus: stroke development, race strategies, teamwork, and confidence
- Mission: build skills, confidence, and success—in and out of the pool

Class Logistics
- Sessions: 8-week standard, 4-week accelerated (Pre-School/Pre-K only)
- Format: Group, semi-private (2), and private lessons
- Placement: Swimmers may be evaluated to confirm level before or during first class

How do I register?

What should we bring?
Swimsuit, towel, goggles. Long hair must be in a swim cap or tied up.
Can we switch levels mid-session?
No. Swimmers must complete their session. Instructors will notify parents when a swimmer is ready to advance.
Can my child swim after class?
No. Non-member families must exit the pool once lessons are complete.
Changing facilities?
Children of the opposite sex may not use the locker rooms. Options include:
- 2 restrooms on pool deck
- 1 family changing room near pool deck
Spectators?
For safety and space, one spectator per swimmer is permitted on deck. Additional guests may wait in the café area.
