It was a normal day in Foxborough Massachusetts when Laurel Reid and her best friend, Mary Miller, got the bright idea to try out for the Patriots Cheerleading Squad. The thought behind it – “what better way to watch a game, then from the sideline”! There was no expectation, just a passion for movement and for life. Little did Laurel know, her life would be forever changed and she would embark on a life-long journey centered-around o movement, fitness, and cheerleading.
Laurel and Mary were the only two women from this small town to make the Patriot squad of 78′ and 79′, a pleasant and most welcoming experience. While Cheerleading, she met her husband, a professional soccer player. Their dedication to fitness and health moved them to Philly where she decided to continue her dedication to cheerleading. Only this time she would be cheering for you and anyone who made the choice to better their life through fitness.
“I’ve been a cheerleader for 40 years – cheering people on to get healthier and happier!
I love the fact that I can still help change lives. Once a cheerleader always a cheerleader.”
Recently Laurel got a chance to strut her stuff and show the benefits of staying Forever Fit when she was asked to join her fellow Patriots Cheerleader Alumni for a reunion showcase, celebrating 55 years. Watch the video below to see her awesomeness! Join Laurel and the rest of the Team85’s Forever Fit Staff, October 9 – 13, 2017, for the official Open House for Forever Fit, a program designed to motivate Boomers to stay healthy at any age.
